Trattoria San Filippo Neri: Reviews & Ratings
Incredibile restaurant, this place like a mountain refugio in middle of milan. Great experience wiht food and wine giving you the feeling that you are in a mountain. The food is so good like home style with good prices. Make sure to book and go otherwise you don’t find place to sit. They have both seating inside and outside and they are fully booked. The have a good selection of veg meat and fish and everyone can find their choice. We thoroughly enjoyed and they even accept the Amex, surprising but true. Definitely will recommend this place and visit again for sure. I went again for lunch with my daughter and we both loved it. Simply amazing.
We loved this place as it’s so authentic. We came here because it’s only a short walk from our hotel, Hilton Garden Inn. This place was all locals and had no English menu (you’ve got to love that already). The food wasn’t the best I had, but it was really good. The pasta was just how I remembered in Italy. The service was wonderful and the people were genuine. Highly recommended for people like us, the travelers (not tourists). Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience with us.
I visited here on purpose for the great three set course for less than 20 euros. The milanese rissoto was okay, nothing to special but the ribs were absolutely delicious, very tender. Tiramisu also great, not too sweet and the alcohol in it was just right. This has a very local feel to it and the food was freshly made. Would recommend (booking recommended for large groups)
Authentic local cuisine with very friendly staff. Felt nervous walking in as two Americans in a neighborhood far from the city center. Everyone spoke English and our server Tomasso was very nice and helpful. Wine selection was dirt cheap and delicious. Left stuffed. Go!
I’ve been here two times and the food is good. It arrives fast once ordered and is reasonably priced. Good house wine. Often very busy with locals.
A vast and unique menu. Perfect if you are a big group of people with different tastes. The place is enormous, there is both place outside and inside. They have plenty of waiters so the tables are covered and the food takes very little to arrive. However the service was a little bit to rushed. The food tasted amazing, but the portions were maybe a little bit too little. They have a good menu format: you can chose whether to take a first course, second with sides, dessert or just the combination. we have booked ten minutes before our reservation time and they had place even though we had to leaved after one hour and half.
I wanted to try this place for a long time and I finally did. I went Saturday night, with no reservation and I had a table straight away, no wait. The restaurant team is full of very young people but all super friendly and efficient. I personally was not satisfied with the food, I heard very good things about ths place, so maybe I was not lucky or ordered the wrong dishes. Food was ok , just nothing special, nothing enthusiastic . I want to come back once for lunch time and try it again.
A simple and popular restaurant, with a simple menu, but with quality dishes. The decorations are simple, the atmosphere of this trattoria feels like a home interior. Or an old-fashioned countryside place. The food is good and tasty, the service is real quick and friendly. The location is convenient and very accessible, since it directly overlooks viale Monza, one of the main arteries of Milan.

The menu is a celebration of regional specialties, each dish crafted with care and tradition. The Cotoletta Alla Milanese is a standout—a perfectly breaded veal cutlet, tender and golden, evoking classic Milanese comfort. Equally impressive is the Risotto Alla Milanese Mantecato Con Midollo Di Bue, rich and creamy, enhanced by the luxurious marrow that deepens its earthy flavors.
